Day -6, Early morning :

After breakfast drive back about 02 hrs to Patsathang. and enters the Largyab valley in the right on rough road till the beginning of Patsathang village. Overnight in camp. Evening meet our trekking crew and explore remote village of Patsathang.

Day -7, Patsathang – Largyab Gongma (4100 m) (trek 5-6 hrs) :

At 8.30 am the hike to Largyab Gonma (4100 mtr.) begins. The trail is clear and easy ascends all along with seldom steep ups & down always following the stream and 3 foot bridges are crossed before reaching Largyab Gongma. Between Patsathang & Largyab Gongma another small village with just 25 families come across and it’s called Largyab yokma. We walk through narrow gorge and the valley begins to open wider at Largyab Yokma. Overnight stay in camps

Day-8,Trek from Largyab Gongma – Ldebsa Barma (4540 mt) (3-4 hrs):

Today we begin our walk not very early but get up early enough to explore the village deeper. We will visit some of the families here who have interesting old houses and Chapels. We can interact deeper with the people to know more of the pure ancient Ladakhi cultural evident preserved here. Here you have a small gonpa and a little temple to visit. Largyab Gongma is seated high and wide and this village is much larger than both Patsathang & Largyab Yokma. The hike involves gradual ascend along the whistling and crystal white stream. Right from the village we walk on the left of the stream and cross only when nearing Ldebsa Barma (4540 mtr.); the biggest doksa (summer camp) with largest number of yaks, dzo & cow. We camp right above the doksa and get a close glimpse of all the activities including making dry cheese, butter etc. Overnight stay in camps.

Day-9,Trek from Ldebsa Barma – Spangpochhe (4800 m) (5 hrs):

The day has to begin no later than 8.00 am although the walk is comparatively short. Now we are entering into the wilder and higher parts of the valley. Our encounter with snow capped peaks, marmots & wild flowers become intensive. Spangpochhe (4800 mtr.) is the highest camping place for us in the north side. We tried to come to the closest possible point towards the pass to shorten the hard and long day awaiting next. Although we are to follow the largest valley there are several valleys on both left and right hand sides. The views of natural rock formations and snow capped peaks are stunningly beautiful. Overnight stay in camps.

Day-10,Trek from Spangpochhe – Chhu Tangmo via Largyab pass (5350 m) (7-8 hrs) :

Today it is going to be the longest (7-8 hrs) and hardest of all, simply to ensure that we reach timely to the next camping place which is the first favourable camp in terms of altitude, if we feel like stopping earlier then Tokpo-Karpo is ideal and the day becomes shorter by half an hour. The path is rocky to see from distant but the trail is perfectly clear as it had been the lifeline of the valley dwellers to Leh via Tia village for ages. Roughly above ten years back when Largyab people couldn’t have barley crops due to harsh climatic conditions they had to cross the pass 2-3 times each year to barter between dry-cheese, wool, butter against grains (barley/wheat). When we are close to the pass ascend becomes steep for less than two hours and we have to walk over ice/snow for 10-15 minutes by following the yak trails. The view from the top is spectacular especially on the southwards. The first descend from the top for 70 meter/20 minutes if very steep. We can spot several tiny lakes formed and the walk among rocky path for an hour so is hard to notice for long distances and therefore need to keep closer to the accompanying staff around here. Accept for the beginning part of the valley the rest of the walk is easy ascending. Chhu Tangmo (4500 mtr.) camping area is lush green. Overnight stay in camps.

Day-11, Trek from Chhu Tangmo – Khatsa Gonpa (4500 m) (5-6 hrs):

Last trekking day to Tia village is somewhat plain or easy ascend. In three hours we reach Doksas/summe place of Tia village. Only few families come up here in summer nowadays for about 4 months with animals and the fields are no longer tilted. Herds of wild animals like Blue Sheep/Bharal are among common sight between Chhu Tangmo to Tia Doksa. After Chhu Tangmo the valey becomes narrower becoming simple gorge and opens wide again only when Tia village begins. Lush green spots and water around the Doksas are attractive for camping but it is necessary to continue down to Khatsa Gonpa where trek ends. Our jeep will be there to pick us to drive 20 minutes to Temisgam village. Overnight in Namra Hotel.

Day 12 :

Drive back to Leh takes about 02 hrs. Lunch in Leh, evening free in Leh for your personal activities. Farewell dinner.
